Personally Speaking....

My life has been a bit chaotic for a while now. We lost my step father in May and my mother was seriously injured in a fall later that month. I had every intention of posting a blog about RAW. (It was wonderful by the way) However I wasn't home long before my mother needed emergency surgery for a stomach issue. She came through it very well and is on the mend.

My mother in law has been battling end stage renal failure for the last few years and is now losing the battle. We are trying to make her feel as comfortable and as loved as we possibly can. We are comforted by the knowledge that where she's going is far better than where she's been.

So anyway, I just wanted thank you for bearing with me and most of all thank you for your constant prayers and good thoughts.

Much love and affection to you all!

Wonderful Reviews for Rude Awakening!!

Let me state for the record that I am in love with Lucas Grayson. I want to describe him as relentless, but Lucas is that and so much more. He is protective, loyal, and oh so sexy. Jaimee doesn’t stand a chance. Innocent even though she is a widow, Jaimee’s awakening in the arms of Lucas guarantees that she is never going to be the same.

With realistic emotions and sensuous love scenes, this long awaited novel definitely is a winner. Veronica Chadwick’s RUDE AWAKENING is intense, powerful and mesmerizes the reader into craving more from this talented author. Don’t miss this satisfying and amazing read – I highly recommend RUDE AWAKENING. It will leave you breathless!

RUDE AWAKENING!!!

Rude Awakening releases with Samhain publishing on June 30th. YAY!!! It's been a long time since I've had anything new to offer, I'm both nervous and estatic .

I adore these characters. Jaimee is close to my heart and someone I think all of us can relate to in some way. Maxine is a friend I think we all would love to have. Lucas is alpha but knows how to be gentle too. I loved writing this book and I hope it shows!

Rude Awakening Excerpt

Warm oil-slicked hands pressed lightly at the small of Jaimee’s back on either side of her spine. Firmly they stroked upward to her shoulder blades. She surrendered to the tranquility melting her tense muscles as Blayne’s hands curved around her shoulders and smoothed back down her ribs. His fingertips grazed the rounded sides of her breasts and she sucked in a breath. She shook off the uneasy feeling as his hands moved down, circled right above her hips and moved up her back and over her shoulders.

Again his fingers brushed the sides of her breasts and Jaimee cleared her throat. Blayne paused for a moment then continued. Each pass of his hands over her breasts sent warm sensations feathering through her body. Don’t be such a prude, Jaimee, she told herself. It was just because she’d been neglecting those needs since Brent died. She hadn’t even wanted to touch herself. Well, she’d wanted to, and she had and it only served to remind her of what she didn’t have. She’d tried so hard to close off that part of herself, maybe even before she lost Brent, maybe, just a little.

Blayne hadn’t said a word since he came back. The pamphlet had said that conversation during the massage should be kept to a minimum to allow for relaxation and concentration. Jaimee took a deep breath and slowly let it out again. Concentrate. Okay she could do that. Anything to take her mind off the fact that this man…this gay man…was making her feel things she wasn’t prepared to feel. She wanted to laugh at herself. Stupid to believe that just because the man was gay didn’t mean she wouldn’t become aroused by his touch.

Liquid heat spread through her with every long firm stroke up, around and back down her body. She squeezed her eyes shut as his hands began moving over her body in a circular motion. Steadily, with firm pressure, his hands were very warm, almost hot on her body. They moved up slowly, back down over the slope of her ass, back up. He moved around the table to the other side. Though he lifted his hand from her back to lift the sheet from her legs, fold it and lay it across her butt he kept his hip pressed against hers, never breaking contact.

He poured more oil into his palm and warmed it between his hands. Starting at her ankles he moved up her calves in long firm strokes. Thank God she’d shaved. As his hands moved upward, past the back of her knees, she held her breath. Using the heel of his palm he smoothed his hand up her thigh in long strokes and she held her breath as his hand curved around, his fingers an inch away from her pussy as they smoothed over her inner thigh.

Alarm bells were going off and at the same time her body reacted heatedly, aching for more of his touch. Her nipples ached as they hardened, pressing against the table. Afraid to let Blayne know what was happening to her at his touch, Jaimee bit her lip. She focused on trying to make her body go numb, trying to block out the pleasure that spiraled through her with every stroke.
Up again, his hands were moving up her leg, this time milking her muscles. Jaimee couldn’t contain the moan that escaped her lips as strong oil-slicked hands moved over her body, working up her back over her shoulders and arms Desperately she tried to control her breathing. Strong hands kneaded her flesh, long fingers…those weren’t Blayne’s fingers. Blayne’s fingers were short. These fingers were long…

“Flip over for me, Jaimee.”

Goodbye to May

May was a terrible, very bad, no good month. Well that's not completely true. There were good moments too. When so many things go wrong it's easy to focus on the bad and let it over shadow all the good things in life. Anyway, I'm looking forward to great summer and I hope that y'all are too.

Stop by tomorrow! I'll be posting an excerpt of Rude Awakening!!

Well, it’s been an eventful few weeks. The kids were out last week for spring break and will be out one more week. I really like having them around but not having alone time makes writing a challenge. Still, I’m pluggin’ along. I’m still working on Good Girls Don’t as well as the second round of edits for Rude Awakening.

Rude Awakening was written over a period of four years. It was all put together very haphazardly. My grammar and punctuation skills are sadly lacking. So the first round was really tough. This go round isn’t as intense but there’s still a lot of work to be done. I’m learning a lot. I find myself enjoying the process. I'm just thrilled to be writing again.

Dragon’s Reign was not accepted but I haven’t given up hope for it. I will be reworking it in hopes that I can find a home for it out there somewhere. I believe in the characters and the story, I’m not willing to shelve it quite yet.

I think I’ve become addicted to Twitter, especially since I found Christopher Walken through a friend. I’ve even downloaded TweetDeck. That was probably a bad idea considering the fact that in tweets at me when someone posts a new tweet. I have to go see what they’ve said. I just can’t resist.

I’m still working on my tired little website. I just got FrontPage, now to figure out how to use it. I probably won’t be able to devote a whole lot of time to it until I get finished with my edits and Good Girls Don’t. Well, back to work for me. See y’all next time!

Welcome Everybody..

I'm fairly new to the whole blogging thing. Please bear with me as I learn the ropes. LOL

Okay here's what's goin' on with me: Rude Awakening has been accepted by Samhain Publishing . It's in edits now and is slated to be released this summer. I'll be sure and keep you updated on a spacific date.

Rude Awakening Blurb

Jaimee Turner lost her husband to a freak car accident due to an unexpected heart attack while on a business trip less than a year ago. Finally she’s back on a relatively even keel thanks to a little help from her very vivacious and domineering friend Maxine. She’s feeling better physically and emotionally than she ever has. Even so she never expected attention from a man like Lucas, nor did she expect him to awaken in her desires and needs that she had tried so hard and long to deny.

Undercover FBI agent Lucas Grayson isn't the desk jockey type. The last thing he wants is a boring assignment tailing a connected man's widow. That is until he discovers this smart, sexy, doggedly determined vixen is anything but boring. He finds himself intrigued, not only by her lush curves and untapped smoldering sensuality but her generosity of spirit and strength of character. Nevertheless Lucas knows his job and intends to extract the information they need to bust The Collective and keep Jaimee Turner safe from them in the process. Even if he can't save her from the devastating betrayal she will have to face when it was all over.

I've just finished a novella, Dragon's Reign, and submitted it to Samhain for an upcoming anthology. I'm crossing my fingers on that one. :-)

Dragon’s Reign Blurb

The death of Sarrae Fallon’s brother at the hands of a dragon leaves her alone and unprotected in a world that doesn’t value strength in females. But Sarrae is no ordinary woman. Besides her ability to read hearts she is strong, determined and craves her independence. She is more that determined to do what it takes to protect herself without help from anyone. Not even the dark man with the silver eyes that demands she wed him.

Kieran only sees it one way. Things are not as simple as Sarrae would like to believe. It was by his hand that the oracle, Gabriel Fallon died. Therefore Sarrae was his responsibility. He finds himself enamored by her enthusiasm and strength of spirit, aroused by her unrestrained passion. If she can accept the dragon in him they just might find a bond, unbreakable and fiery, against a rising threat of evil.

I have another novella in the works right now. I'll give you more information on that one once it's finished. I will post an excerpt of Rude Awakening soon so be sure and check back.
